Founder’s Timeline
The journey to DJ Ranch
1969
The Call
Doris felt a call to help youth struggling with addiction. A year later, 22-year-old Mike turned his life over to God, left drugs behind, and joined forces with Doris. Together, they started a travel camping program.
1972
Camper Adventures
Doris and Mike founded New Life 4 Youth, and they started traveling the states in a camper van. In 1977, after the van broke down, they were blessed with an RV. They continued to take groups of teens to visit the National Parks, encountering Christ throughout the journey.
1979
The Vision
The Holy Spirit spoke to Doris about owning a 40-acre property to reach youth. Doris began to pray, and they were later introduced to the owners of Canterbury Farms. She continued to believe that one day New Life 4 Youth would own Canterbury Farms.
1985
DJ Ranch
On December 30, 1985, a generous donor stepped forward to purchase the farm, donating it to New Life 4 Youth. On the 31st, the farm officially became the property of New Life 4 Youth and was renamed DJ Ranch.
Today, that same mission continues. Partner with us to help the next generation find a home and a new life.
